MITCHELL FLY FISHING

My name is Mitchell Bielanowski and my goal is to have an informative website for entry levels of skill. 

I am a retired scientist who has been fly fishing for over 50 years. I am disabled and struggle to get in and out of the water, but my love for fly fishing pushes me to get out on the river and never give up. I have a love for the outdoors and a respect for the environment. My goal is to teach people the basics of fly fishing and to instill a sense of responsibility to save our streams and rivers for the future generations. My website is new, but it will be expanding in the future to social media, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok. 

I will be discussing how I fish and what works for me. I live in New Jersey and mostly fish in this state. My experience is in the North East , New England part of the country .Fly fishing is not that difficult to get started.

Do not think about all those shows you have seen with an angler making long cast with dry flies, the reality is most of the time you will only have to do a roll cast, simply flipping your line for short cast. I use a simple roll cast about 75% of the time I am fishing. I use stone fly nymphs and scuds just about every time I go trout fishing. The exception is when there is a caddis hatch when I use dry flies and emergers. 

At Mitchell Fly Fishing , I aim to empower anglers of all skill levels. My passion for fly fishing drives me to provide the best resources and guidance available. 

I have been fly fishing for over 50 years and realize that fly fishing is is an art.

The best way to learn to fly fish is to buy an outfit and get out to the river and fish. Each time you will learn some thing new, what to do and more important what not to do. Find a quiet stretch of a stream and try every thing, dry flies, wet flies, nymphs and streamers.
